Biography

Katie Liu is the Associate Director of Research Programs for the Data, AI, and Computing Initiative. She oversees DAC internally funded research programs for affiliated faculty, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and students and collaborates with teams across the University on external funding opportunities. She is also a Managing Director for the NSF Center for Computer Assisted Synthesis.

Katie was formerly the Assistant Director of Research Programs for the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society. Before joining Notre Dame, she was an NSF-GRFP fellow at Stanford University, where she received her Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry studying the mechanism of influenza virus membrane fusion. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Chemistry from Scripps College.
